At Dore Dental Care we provide home whitening kits that fit your mouth perfectly so that you can whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home.

The kits are made up of trays made specifically for your mouth and a unique Polar whitening formula which are worn overnight. Two appointments are required, At the first, impressions are taken to construct whitening trays, at the second the trays are fitted and full instructions provided.

The home whitening kits usually require 1-2 weeks’ worth of applications but is dependent on the beginning shade and the desired result. As this is done at home, results are also dependent on how frequently you keep up with the applications.

The whitening usually lasts around three years depending on the individual. Factors such as smoking, drinking or eating foods that stain can have an impact on the lasting results. It is easy to top up your whitening however through another application of the whitening gel.

Teeth Whitening Side Effects

There are sometimes a couple of side effects with the whitening treatment. For instance, some suffer from sensitivity but using a sensitive toothpaste such as Duraphat or Sensodyne usually helps this. With regards to aftercare of your whitened smile we recommend a visit to your dentist every six months for an examination and a scale and polish to remove any staining. Also cutting down on any foods and drinks known to stain teeth or smoking may be a great asset to keeping the teeth white.
