Composite Bonding

Composite Bonding can be used to close space between the teeth like the example above and below! Composite is a resin based white filling material that bonds directly to the teeth. No preparation is required, it is therefore healthy for the tooth structure and very conservative. The results are not quite at the level of indirect veneers, but we can still improve the appearance, colour and shape of the teeth. If you want the ultimate in aesthetics, we would recommend opting for EMAX veneers.

Composite Restorations (White Fillings)

Composite fillings are ‘white’ or tooth-coloured fillings. The technology in the composite has progressed greatly over time. Hard-wearing composite are suitable for back teeth and have sufficient strength. They can also have many advantages over amalgam restorations including:

  • Better aesthetics

  • Discrete and natural looking restorations

  • More conservative - due to composite bonding to the tooth structure we do not have to create mechanical grooves to lock the filling in place, as we sometimes have to do with amalgam restorations.

  • Ability to bond to the tooth’s surface creating a better seal and margin to the restoration.
